Semestery

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Semestery (“we”, “us”) helps teachers turn AI-written questions into printable papers and live quizzes. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how we handle it.

Who the data is about

  • Teachers who create an account.
  • Students who join a teacher’s live quiz. Students do not create accounts.

What we collect

  • Teacher account: email address and password (passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider).
  • Quiz content: the questions, answers, and documents you create.
  • Student responses: when a student joins a quiz, the name (and optional student ID) they enter, and their answers and score.
  • Basic technical data: standard server logs and error reports used to keep the service running and fix problems.

How we use it

To provide the service: sign you in, generate your papers/quizzes, run live sessions, show you results, and diagnose errors. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Where it’s stored & who processes it

Data is stored with our hosting and infrastructure providers (database, application hosting, and document-generation services) acting on our behalf. Quiz text you choose to send to an outside AI chatbot (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) is handled by that provider under their own terms — that step happens in your own AI account, not on Semestery.

Students & minors

Teachers are responsible for using student information appropriately and for obtaining any consent required by their school or local law before collecting student names/IDs. If a quiz session is run without requiring a student ID, students can join with a display name only.

Keeping & deleting data

Teachers can delete their quizzes and classes at any time, which also removes the associated sessions and student responses. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.

Cookies

We use cookies only to keep you signed in and to let a student stay in their quiz session. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service grows. We’ll change the “last updated” date above when we do.
